How many mistakes are never discovered and the driver simply hands over the tax?

I'd have let it go to court.... after a few phone calls to the national press!

from the article

"...lady that I spoke to thought it was funny..."

and

"... saw the funny side...."

Excuse me, I'm not finding anything to laugh about.

Translation, we don't normally bother looking - it's all about forcing as much cash through the system as possible without being caught.

Neither do I. Probably tens of thousands of people having points given and money taken under the threat of worse if they take it further to court and lose.

It just proves that they dont check the details or the photos. They just churn their nips out and screw the fact that theyve sent it to the wrong person, or that the car wasnt speeding cos the camera picture timings are all fed up.
And do they care? Like hell they do! As long as they rip another £60 from someones pockets thats all they give a dam about.
And then their sausage jockey of a "leader" tries to make a joke, the "ploughing" bit of his statement.
Very fecking funny scamslags, im sure all the other people you turds have screwed over are rolling in the isles, not!

If they made a genuine error in reading the reg number why when the check was made of the vehicle didn't they pick up the fact that it was atractor and not the car in the picture?
They do check the photos don't they? Surely this is part of the process of checking, my local partnership ( Dorset) show simplistically on their web site photos being examined under a big magnifying glass and say this is in every case!. (By the way I do beleive in Father Christmas).

It turned out the letters FOT on the car which was photographed by the roadside camera had been mistaken for FDT, the letters on Mr Crossman's tractor.
