Is it possible to fit a Chimp style header tank to a 400 and do away some of the miles of hose under the bonnet ??

Is there anything to be gained by fitting a chimp / griff long induction pipe, AFM to air filter to pick up some cooler air, or is that only fitted to these cars to get the filter away from the massive exhaust pipe thingy in front of the engine ??

Isn't there a danger of water ingress by having the filter mounted so low? What I've done is to run flexible tubing from each of the circular apertures in the front dam up to the underside of the air filter, so I've got at least some ambient temp. air. I suppose ideally I should put a box around the filter as well. Maybe another project.

hallo,

I had a one-off specially made up for my 430 SE. It is slighty shorter and the advantage is that the bottom hose runs under instead of through the aperture under the bonnet. So the bonnet won't rub on the hose. I haven't put it in the car yet. So if you want a pictute I can send you one. I don't know how to put a picture in the post. If you can I can mail you the picture.
