Whilst I'm waiting for my Chimaera (another 2 weeks aparently - don't ask) it occured to me that there aren't really any websites dedicated to the Chimaera ownership experience.

The Griffith guys have The Griffith Pages which is an excellent resource but I haven't found anything of a similar level for the Chimaera.

I've been lurking here for a while and there's loads of info both on PH and elsewhere which could usefully be consolidated into one place.

So my questions are:
- Does a site like this already exist?
- Does it sound like a good idea?
- Any other comments / suggestions?

How about www.golfcart.co.uk?

I'll gladly build it and host it but I'm too busy to add any content...

It would be good to have a Chimaera owners register, similar to the Tamora & T350 registers.

Good idea, I'll include one! :-)

Any other ideas are welcome, I'll make a start on this tonight.

Now to think of a name.... www.ChimaeraWorld.co.uk is free.

BB has done wonders with The Griffith Pages, but the amount of work to get it to where it is must have been phenomenal. I wonder if anyone would be insane enough to try to emulate that for the Chim? There is a lot of crossover though - a lot of the rebuild stuff is relevant to either car, the Chim parts list is on there already, suppliers would be the same etc etc.

So is www.thechimaerapages.com.

Edited to add: Well it was. Until I reserved it.

I'm aware of the overlap with the Griff stuff and in many cases I'll have to just link to reference material rather than host it myself (unless I can get permission).

However I think there's some value in having a central place to hold these links with a quick summary of what's available.

I thought about that but I wouldn't want to give the impression that I'm copying the name/format/ideas...

I dont think mikeb (Wedge Pages) or BB (Griff pages) would be too upset about a Chimaerapages, it ties in the theme of the enthusiasts of the marque.

Good idea, thought about doing it myself, just never got round to it.

My website - www.jsread.com/tvr - is a blog dedicated to my experience of owning a TVR. It tracks my costs also.

Okay, I'll send them a mail to see what they think...

I see that the Griffpages are closely linked to PH (News, For Sale, Forum etc) and I'd be keen to do something similar so I'll speak to Ted too.

That's a nice site.

It seems to me that there's quite a lot of good content out there but we don't have a central point to index it.

Cool, thanks Ballistic!

It does seem strange that it hasn't been done before but I'm up for the challenge! Help and submissions are very welcome.

I'll work on the basic layout over the weekend and hopefully go from there.

Thanks to all for the positive feedback!

Humm... that's that idea out of the window then...

www.ChimaeraWorld.co.uk it is then (unless anyone has any better ideas that they don't want to register themselves...)

I'll be happy to lend a hand if need be. I'm particularly good with graphics/photos, flash/actionscript and php code.

Alex

You don't want free hosting then?

I'm quite happy to transfer the domain name FOC if you prefer, I was just grabbing it before anyone with malicious intent did likewise!

I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

PS you do realise you have opened up a whole new chapter of Griff vs Chim debate, and they got there first!
