Calendar Event: 30 Jun Corvette Club

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Following on from last year's event held in searing temperatures and perfect track conditions we will be looking forward to seeing who is this year's Fasted Kid in the (Shoreham) Valley.

The event will be held at Shoreham Airport (aka Long Beach) on Friday 30th June.
The strip will open at around 7-7.30 depending on incoming planes/helicopters etc and will run till 10 ish.

A huge buffet will be provided in our own restaurant.
Naturally we will be presenting the prestigious Fastest Kid Trophy to the winner

Entry fees/costs are not determined yet - it will depend on numbers. If you can indicate your initial interest, I'll post more details nearer the time.

The event is open on the following criteria/ priority.
1. For CCCUK members
2. For Corvettes
3. For other vehicles by invitation.

Last year we had a number of Vettes, a Viper, Porche and a few other interesting cars.

Given the weather an amphibious vehicle would have been welcomed too...

Can (non Vette / no CCCUK Members) people come along and watch?

By meaning other cars but invitation only, would it be alright to take my dads place and drag my car as my dad wouldnt let his corvette be dragged. Only thing is my car isnt a fire breathing monster but instead is a mini. It prob would be very amusing to watch tho and has more character than the usual small cars.

oh well, altho now i have an excuse to try and push my dad into letting me drag his corvette. It will prob be much more exciting than a 145bhp straight thru exhaust classic mini.

This extract from a C5 Bone Stock Performance thread running on CorvetteForum shows what a C5 can do!

"Actually there are two people that have ran 12.6 bone stock....And lots of 12.7-12.9's....

But of course we can't all have factory freaks and most fall in the 13.0-13.5 category

One of the 12.6's was done about 2 months ago and the guy posted it over on LS1 tech....

His 12.6 was a hundreth or so lower than the stock C5 world record of 12.6 and they're trying to find out if he actualy has the worlds quickest stock c5.

These cars can just vary so much..."
