Well I have bought a XDA Exec and cannot get it to sync with my PC! I installed the software first and then followed the instructions and connected the XDA. Windows identified it as an "unspecified mobile device" but the sync software never found it! I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, downloaded the most up to date version, I have even gone back to the system restore point before instillation and started over again with the downloaded new version prior to connecting the PDA but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any bright ideas or am I doing something blindingly obviously wrong.

Help please,

JonL

I've had this occasionally even when there is a current pairing with the XDAIIi.

I just reboot the PC and then try to sync again. Usually solves the problem.

I've not tried syncing yet but if Win Mobile 5.0 is anything like Smartphone 2003 the sync and connection requests have to come from the phone, if using Bluetooth.

You can try all you like to connect to the phone from the PC but it wont have it, try it the other way around and it works...

I am using the USB cable supplied with the XDA to connect the two computers together. Re-booting the PC makes no difference either, I have been trying to connect for a week now! I am just at a loss what to do!

Are your USB ports working Ok with other peripheral? Can you try the cable with something else to make sure it's not faulty? Have you done a soft reset of the Exec? If not try this first (push the end of the stylus into the reset hole between the headphone and USB sockets). It that doesn't fix it you may need to do a hard reset (Note: THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA AND ANY SOFTWARE YOU HAVE INSTALLED!!!). To do a hard reset hold down the two programmable keys on the top row of the keyboard (marked "-", next to the red and green phone keys) and push the stylus into the reset hole.

Best bet though is to have look/ask on the XDA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewforum.php?f=31

Have you also tried a soft reset of the XDA?
