well I post a rant and after a certain number of word the preview comes back with an error on page. It is a good Rant!

There is a limit, but it's a lot. Certainly more than I can usually be arsed to type. It could even be as much as two paragraphs

Correct. I'm working on the new posting/preview pages currently so that will be addressed.

Hope so - it's really p*ssed me off a few times - written a few very fine (if long) posts - only to find that when I try to post them something either hangs, rejects the post, or logs me off. Infuriating when you've just spent 10 minutes typing a post.

Confirmed it is just the Previewer - once you submit it is fine - see my latest RANT on Plod

I've had that happen to me a number of times. The solution is to type the long post in Word (or other) and then cut and paste the text into the post. You then have the original Word doc saved if the post goes tits up.

You don't even need to do that. Just select all ot the text every now and then when you type it and then right click and 'copy'.

Now the text is on the clip board and if it fails you can just paste it back again
