do i? or dont i?

Hi guys and gals
as you all probably know, my beast is broke!
I have recieved a cheque for £11k to fix it! the dealers are saying it will cost £11.250 and it will come back like new
What do i do? do i take the money and sell the car as it is! so i have more money raised for a newer one,or have the car fixt!
I have £8k that has been spent on it in the last 9mths in reciepts i.e suspension, brakes, drilled discs, sounds, stainless,Remapped ecu, italian wheels etc
The beast will not be on the register as a right off!
I love the car but on paper it is only worth £15 tops, but got such a good history.
It seems such a shame to to sell it as it is!

The weird thing about Cerbera owners is:-
Their hearts have already told them what the right decision is ! They pontificate and procrastinate about the logic of the situation and when they eventually commit to their real desires they (almost) never regret it.
You know you want her back. She's a known, good quantity and she'll love you all the more if you rescue her. The rewards after another year will be enormous. It also happens to be an un-ending legend in the Pub !
A little better, perhaps, than GCerb's story !

The money you've spent & the fact that you know the car means you know it's a good car. If it's going to cost £11k to fix & the insurance company have given you £11k, then I think you'd be mad to sell it !

And Green Cerbs are the best anyway

A cerb is for life...not just for xmas 
just remember how you felt when it broke...IMHO...if the car is rebuit to "as good as new" then you are no worse off than before, but now you have a sorted beastie, that you don't have to worry about.
we need to keep our awesome beasties alive, especially as the factory are still to better it for looks , performance
and sound.
The answer straight away, you know how much you love the car by having to post you are obviously suffering from PCD(poorly cerbie disorder)....we all get it.
and as for the hour you posted ...well that says it all, what is even more worryin' is that there are other sufferers of this disorder who also Cerb addicted to reply at the same hour.

guys this decision has taken over my life!

I had the same decision to make last summer.
Crashed my Tuscan and the repair was v.close to the write off value (had to have a new chassis amongst (many) other things).
I took the plunge for the reasons you outline above - she had so much already done in the engine / suspension / fixed known gremlins department, that I just couldn't bring myself to get another.
It took a looooooonnnnggggg while to get her back, and I missed all that lovely late summer / autumn weather we had
, but when I did get her back - all that gets forgotten PDQ!!!
If the repair is done well (as mine most definitely was ), the car is better than new - it's like getting an old friend back.
Follow your heart - no-one else can make the decision for you, but from personal experience I would have to say

geez 10K for bodywork sound far too high assuming second hand
other bits wont cost you more than a grand?
I would get a second opinion from Ed4.2 - (eds body shop) excellent
workmanship all be it not local to you
£11k payout seems excellent result though ... look for ward to seeing the repaired pics!

I had a new rear quater from the factry @ £1500, I'm guessing that front quater, can't be a lot more.
You could do it in the cheap & ask Douglas valley to cut you A front quater off one of the scrappers, there's a bonnet lurking around on here somewhere, from one of the recent smashes, front end paint job = A cheap Cerbie with no stone chips
