Front bonnet release??

I feel a right numpty...can't find the front bonnet release on a S1. Anyone help me?

You have a front bonnet? (I have an S2)

IIRC from testing an S1 it is under the dashboard, left knee sort of area

Look at the extreme left of this pic:



The lever is out of sight to the left - you can just see part of the mechanism.

Maybe it has been pulled off,they get stiff and if forced break.My engine cover cable is currently broken.

OK...Cable moves but nothing hapnin at the bonnet. Is there a way to manually release the bonnet??

No it isnt !!

It on the far right hand side just under the dashboard. Its a red T shaped handle. Pull it towards the floor. It will be quite stiff but just make sure you are pulling that and not something else.

TOP MAN PIOOLY. BONNET NOW OPEN.
ONLY THING NOW IS TO FIND OUT WHERE THE SMELL OF PETROL COMES FROM WHEN I'M DRIVING IT. ANY COMMON PROBLEMS?? No smell when car's stood with engine running, only sems to be when cornering / accelerating, so I'm off to try to find out where the fuel tank is. Bet you can't guess I've only had this car since last night. (Have ordered CD manual, but awaiting its arrival.

as already mentioned it's to the far right under the dash. When you sit in the car it'll be right above your right knee. A small T shaped handle.

What's going on here. The last reply is all of a sudden on the top. Haven't changed anything at my end

by the way, the fuel tank is not at the front

It's in the rear ,in front of the engine.
