exercising the Chim on the M65 in Lancs this afternoon coming round a bend (yes bend) near Blackburn and I'm looking at a camera van parked up . Looked like a big tranny with 2 ports open high up in the rear doors, looking at me. I have Road Angel and Bel 330 so well (?) covered for radar and laser. Thing is neither gave a peep, not even a chirp and I'm sure the tax collectors would have had a try. So is there something new and fiendish out there that my electronic gizmos can't detect, or am I just getting paranoid (which doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't out to get me)?

cheers

Sounds more like an ANPR van to me.

I'm trying to think where this is. Have driven entire length in past - Wildy wanted to look at some designer outlet clothes shop en route to in-laws.... (She cost me a small fortune as well... - but I concede - she does look pretty in her new gear. :}

Admit - not a motorway I know in intimate detail - and think I recall this "corner" - but woould not say it was a dangerous one if I recall correctly... Ist it Clitheroe -Preston bit ? (One of extended family lives in that area as well ) Or Clitheroe - Colne as "curve/bend" features in both if I remember right?

I do not have Wildy's "instant recall" ability - and I freely admit she is much better skilled than I am. Dammit!

that looks like the beast - assume looking for real bandits. I continued at NSL plus a modest margin and tucked into the traffic stream. About 3 mins later a BiB range rover passed at wharp speed, no blues, not the slightest bit interested in me. I left at next junction and backtracked (had spent the morning fiddling with the donkey and was just out for a little road test, not going anywhere in particular, as one does) when more BiB flew by with everything on in same direction as first lot. I guess a rumble further up the valley. Wiv a little bit of luck, I'm just being paranoid.

It's the stretch between Blackburn west and B'bnurn north going east on M65 - there's a ramp that's hidden until you are almost on top of it.

I think it was the test driver of an original shelby cobra that said it was one of the few cars capable of finding corners on the M1
