Help - fluid leaking? ahhhh

Hi Guys,

My car has a mistery fluid on the front drivers side boot plastic. If you were standing facing the front boot open then to the left of the battery section there seems to be something leaking? any idea what this is? I can see what looks like a white tear drop on a green background - red triangular sticker?

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks

Left of the battery below the plastic cover is the slave cylinder for the clutch.I think this is what you are looking for. Whip the batt cover off and the adjoining plastic cover and you will see the slave cylinder.

Good timing this post, I was cleaning under the bonnet this morning & noticed that on the plastic above the slave the plastic was very "sweaty" not wet but moist & looking down onto the slave it looks like mine is leaking (moisture on the bottle and what looks like fluid directly underneath)
There seems to be some unprotected wiring too directly underneath so I am assuming its not corrosive fluid.

Anyone heard of the slave cylinder fluid leaking before ? Guess its an OPC job ? Expensive ? This might explain why my clutch has been feeling odd recently ?

If your clutch pedal goes hard overnight then the valve in the slave cylinder is letting by. It rarely effects the operation of the clutch once the engine is started but if you have the warranty then have them replace it otherwise just leave it be. I had mine replaced the month before the warranty was due to expire but it had been like it pretty much since new.
I doubt the cylinder sweating a bit has any significance on the valve letting by so if your clutch pedal isnt going hard overnight then just wipe the slave over and retighten the lid.
Also there is another test to determine whether the slave is faulty and this by the number of times you can pump the clutch before it becomes hard,but im not sure on the exact number that opc deem it faulty at(20 odd come to mind).
Its a common fault.

OK, but do I have to re-fill with any fluids ?
If its been sweaty for a while then it will have lost some fluid - so does this need replacing ?

PS : Clutch is hard-ish in the morning (I always dip the clutch before starting the engine & notice it)
