You have to be kidding me.. /me looks at the date - nope, not April 1st.. The Superb? This car is never going to sell to anyone self-conscious about their image - fancy telling the neighbours at the next garden party that Bill just bought a Superb. Guh.

Yeah, but before that Bill bought a 'Charisma' - so is this any worse? What about - Skoda Rapid, Nissan MicraWave TVR Reliable (oops, wishful thinking)

Looks like an Audi/Rover cross but I like it. More reliable than my TVR I bet.

I've wondered for some time about the Skoda/VW crossover thing. Particularly, I wonder if the Skoda and VW badges are the same diameter? Buy two VW roundels, lever off the Skoda badge and the tastelessly stylised Superb et voila! So you save handbags full of cash over the VW alternative, and avoid the embarassment for the the cost of 20 quid for a couple of badges and 25p for some evostick. Without a doubt the best idea I've heard I'm going to replace the entire company fleet with VW no better still Audi badged Skodas without telling any of the Drivers...... A massive saving and they all think there going up in the world from what they've got already Sh1t forgot have they got a badge on the steering wheel ???? Edited by mel on Tuesday 14th August 08:54

On the subject of Skoda.... I have decided my new work horse when it's time. I am going to order the Skoda Octavia RS - Yes I know it's a Skoda but it looks ok, drives well and by f*$k does the thing go and all for fifteen grand!
But will the wife/girlfiend be happy? Mine wouldn't drive a skoda, no matter how good it was/is. So I have a peugeot . Sparks

She will still be smiling from the night before! She just likes fast cars and she likes the Skoda too which is a bonus. It's either that, a 328 bmw or a laguna v6 - The Skoda seems the most practical and I've got my 7 for the weekend anyway (when it finally gets fixed). But I'm still only on the "thinking about it" stage
Lucky you!!!! Without paying more, I don't think you will find a better combination. It is oversized for the golf/focus market, and not far off the passat/mondeo. The alfa 156 is nice, but not so much go (for the price) it is small (boot same size as a golf) and worst of all the dealers are cr*p (I had a fiat, and tried 5 different dealers and they were all useless). Buy the skoda, and know you have the last laugh. Sparks
