BOXSTER STEREO AMPLIFIER

I recently bought a porsche boxster and am over the moon with it except the stereo.
it has a cdr-22 with amplifier but the speakers in the doors hardly seem to work.
It has 6 speakers, 4 on the dash plus the doors. i read on the internet i wouldnt need a wiring harness but i did. i bought a 10 speaker harness which fits my connection in the car, but the speakers still sound crap in the doors!!
If i dont use the amp the speakers sound fine, even bought new speakers thinking that was the problem, but no change.
This seems to prove its the amp, but the dash speakers work fine !!
Any one got any advice or had a smiliar problem ??? thanks
