How many 993's and 996's have been sold?

According to the excellent new book by Adrian Streather, Porsche 993 - The Essential Companion, total build run of the 993 including races cars was 59,528.
There is no equivalent book for the 996. Obviously the precise number will be available somewhere (I wonder whether if you wanted you could today order a 996 GT2 or Turbo cab, the sort of thing that won't be available in 997 for quite a while yet. If so, then the 996 build run would not be over yet.) My hunch is that the total number of 996s to date is around a hundred grand.
