Decent deal or not ?
Discussion
As my previous posts show, I have a 996TT & am possibly looking to get a 360 Coupe.
A Ferrari dealer has a 2001 (Y) 360 Coupe in grey with 16k miles on it, challange grill, F1 box, Tubi, Xenons & calipers for 74,950.
They have offered pretty much book price for my 996TT. I really want to buy from a dealer, they are on my doorstep, will come in mint condition with a Ferrari warranty etc etc.
So I would think, knowing a little about main dealer mark up's that they have at least £10k in this car (maybe more?) that they are not giving away at all.
My last contact was to say that if they offered £5k more for my TT then I would sign a deal, otherwise I walk. I am waiting their response. A little cheeky I know but if you don't ask......
Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the car, the deal etc. Can't believe they sell many 360's in January.
Thanks

Stratstone have a silver 2001 with 19k on the clock for £69K, maybe worth trading one against the other ?
Haggle hard. Graypaul knocked off £6000 when I bought my 360 Spider from them. (was a cash purchase)
Most main dealers put £10-15K across a car of that value, but will argue that they paid for a new clutch (they always budget for a new clutch on an F1 car) and will need to put a warranty on it.
If you go non-main dealer, other traders have 2001 Spiders up for £69K which are a better deal IMO

Cool, exactly the type of help I was after.
I don't really want a Spider, nothing against them - I am just a coupe man!
I figure that yes I will pay over the odds a little from a dealer, but knowing roughly their margins I can strike a good deal.
I am only speaking to one dealer too, so I am going to contact a couple others on Monday, spell out the deal & get them to beat it against a car they have in stock, then trade them off against each other & see where I get to.

Grey being the "problem" with the car at that price ?
I actually really want a grey one, don't want red.

Grey is not really the problem, but it will make it harder to sell on later. But no 5 year old 360 is a good deal at £75K especially when it is in the "wrong" colour. Why not spend £60K on a 1999/2000 360F1 with a few more miles?
Well my thinking is that I am going to use it pretty much everyday, so it will get about 12k miles put on it a year, so I really don't want the mileage much over 15k to "start" with.
I really like the grey (Grigio I think its called) I have always had grey cars - my first ever car was a Golf GTi 16v in gunmetal & my current is a 996TT in seal grey.
To be honest I only wanted to spend £70k max, but this one came up in my perfect spec so am tempted.

I went from a 996TT to a 360 and found it totally visceral in comparison. I too wanted Grigio, but was told to go for resale red otherwise there would be a £5-6 K diff on resale..incredible.
I really didn't want red but saw mine in the flesh and it did look superb.
Grigio looks better on the 550 etc, thogh getting the V8 Vantage in August and guess what....Gun Metal it is.

£75K for a GREY 360 F1 on a Y plate? Good deal? I bet that if you tried to sell it the next day, you would not get more than £58K!!

Sorry - no idea, but with 1999 RHDs being advertised for high 50s, I would guess a LHD cant be worth more than £45K. Afterall, LHDs are bought by those who cant afford the RHD (and ofcourse all those who do alot of driving on the Continent!!)
Personally - this would be my approach
Take a look at this car 02/52 Grigio Titanium, 17k miles 75k
http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/dealerservices_
I'd talk to Dion Speak from www.elmscollection.co.uk to broker the deal (i.e get it cheaper!)
There's grey.. and there's grey.
Personally I think Grigio Titanio (Titanium) looks very nice (when clean !)..
Grigio Alloy (greyish blue) was very popular at launch, but some think it's a bit girly/weak (and I'm told a bast. to respray when doing front end chips)
Argento Nurburgring (light silver) is probably the least popular, being a very weak colour.
