Pity about all the trouble with the Griff.IMHO one of the best looking cars ever made (although my ideal car would be Griff front and Chimp rear).

Glad my Chimp's not been so unreliable.

Well, the car was an absolute nightmare. I know TVR have some issues, and I was prepared to put with niggles such as door seals, radiator leaks, air con failure that sort of thing.

What I couldn't stomach was total engine failure, front suspension collapse, water pump failure, oil pump failure etc etc. The list goes on!

Agree that it's a lovely car, IMHO one of the best looking cars ever made, and certainly one of the best sounding. It was really was a boyhood dream to own one which made it even more of a disappointment when it went wrong in such a big way.

TVR = BDSM. (pleasure and pain)

I'm sorry the Griff experience was such a negative one; the colour was great and I quite agree with you, Plipton, about the Griff's styling (though I personally prefer the purity of it's rear to the Chimp!). I ran a Chimp 450 in this colour for a small time and I could never leave the damn thing without constantly glancing over my shoulder at it, lovingly!

Anyway: THAT Scooby, Smifffy! Double congrats on keeping faith after a role like that - are you married or owt? I doubt many 'other halves' (mine included) would've been too chuffed to revisit the scene of one's own (near) mortality [did similar in an EVO, btw] after an incident like that. Still, it can happen to anyone IN anything so what the hell, eh?

But then again, it'd be nice have both Griff & P1, ultimately, wouldn't it..?

Btw, have you seen the latest EVO mag? The last series 2 Scooby S202 STi? Limited Jap only run of 400 and a tad pricey at £40k but JB reckons THE BEST to date!

Yeah, I am married, and she encouraged me to get another Scooby - she was positively raving about the P1... What a top girl.

The reason is that the Scooby was *so* good when I rolled it that she reckoned it would serve me well if/when then same thing happened again.

I saw the new scoob in Evo, and it sounds extremely good. Yep, V Pricey @ 40k and it would also be a grey import so I think the P1 is a more "sensible" choice for now. Besides, I counted about 5 references to the P1 in this month's magasine which tells you about the high esteem with which they hold this car.

After screaming through some of the bends on the A272 this weekend, I can confirm it's pretty damn good although I'm leaving any tail-out action until the next track day where I can play in safety.
