Am I the only to think why the Catalysts built a trolley for the car????? I mean they still had wheels. It would have been a lot lighter and the car would have gone further!!!!!
If I was on there I would have used steam to power the launcher, works quite well on aircraft!
I'd be up for the challenge. Bodgetastic!!!!!

It was great. The whole way through I was wondering what they' build the throwing arm out of, only to find they'd used one wibbly-wobly RSJ which was bowing under its own weight!
I was really hopping it would work anyway but I just cracked up when it all went bang . . . I've never seen a build go that spectacularly wrong before

I and some mates applied to get on there a couple of years back: I'm a hands-on techie type, one guy has a degree in law and works as an accountant, the other has a Doctorate in aerodynamics and works for an ejector-seat maker.
We used my TVR, a Lotus and a Kawasaki 900 in our test video, demonstrating hydraulic brakes (since found out that they did a similar demo on the show - doh!!).
We got a polite 'No thanks'.
From what I've seen, they only ever seem to have the same faces on there, occasionally in different teams, but seems like 'jobs for the boys'. Either you look like a hairy-arsed biker or you don't get on. That army 'colonel' with the daft 'tache gets on my tits. If he was my boss I'd have to twat him with a bit of 2 x 2, even if he does get the job done.

Gents. This is strange but true. Hadrian Spooner (the bloke that built the screw powered tug boat thing and advisor/helper on Scrapheap) is here working on my office today, in case your wondering my office is on a 130 ft boat that Hadrian built, moored by Albert Bridge. Any questions you want to put to him I will be more than happy to pass on.

Has anyone ever mentioned getting a Pistonheads team together and applying????????
Try looking 3 post above yours![]()
Yep I know but edited it out after hitting the submit button. I was actually thinking about a past thread. I'm sure I've seen it mentioned some months ago, but I guess nothing came of it.

Hey. How about a Pistonheads team....there's got to be a few engineer types on here....wouldn't need to come up with a name. "The Pistonheads" - perfect already!
id be up for that if allowed, i know more than my Design tech teacher, that dont say much really.
Proper Job!!!!
One of the funniest ones ever!!
My favourites were the three Army brothers who build a Gun- with a bent barrel!!
And the Navy boys who build an amphibious vehicle with a large propellor out the back. The holed their Hull, and had to lean way back in the tub.
Result??? The propellor hit the water, and they went round in circles..... And if they went forward to lift the prop. out of the boat, they let water in.
Sooo funny. But last Sunday's was spectacular.

First - my mate was on there twice (Bowser - the big hairy arsed biker and copper), just don't let him hear you call him that if you're around London as he's usually armed.
Second - the 'Colonel' was my first Company Commander when I was in the Army. He was just as obnoxious then as he still apears to be. I'd agree with you twatting him though.
Third - to get on there you'd have to do something original in your promo or be a 'charachter'. Just look at the cats (pompous), farmers (wierd), vicars (speaks for itself) or the mother of all inventions (60 year old mother and her sons). You could try to get on there as transsexuals...............
