The trouble with football agents is that they have far too much a vested interest in moving players on. They make vast sums of money when a transfer takes place, (which I personally don't see as a problem), and they seem to promote the moving of players. They seem to unsettle players, and so on. Very rarely will you find abn agent saying 'he's happy where he is' etc.
On the other hand, clubs have their own versions of 'Agents' and they themselves put clauses in sell on contracts, and may well profit from the next club selling on.
On the whole I think they are bad for the game, and clubs, as player loyalty is not a quality seen very often. This to me is more important than than the money involved. We've had big Dunc for 10 years, Unsworth for 10 years, and so on. Loyalty is a big factor for the supporters in these players. It has a great deal of respect attached to it.
