Just bought a 96 Chim yesterday ran like a dream all day did, 150 miles home and then some running round. Come to go out this afternoon and she will turn over but not fire up.
Have checked the fuses and they seem fine but cant hear the fuel pump whirring?

Any help with suggestions of where to start please.

Thanks Matt

As you know, if you sit in the car (assuming immobiliser is on, having "timed out" you press the fob & the fuel pump primes. Are you saying that if you do this there is no "humming" of the fuel pump?

I was going to suggest a relay, but I'm not sure where it is to check it.

Likely suspects:

1) immobiliser
2) relay
3) MIL switch..I assume MIL light is not on?

Sorted! New Fuel Pump Relay found it near the battery after reading some old posts and then re checked fuses and found a 15amp Blown. Smile all round again
