HELP .. I'm reading too many derisory threads about 996's on this site , it's having a horrendous effect on me nethers. Can anyone ease my so called mind on a few issues I'm having with my 1999 c2.
1. When clutching to change to a lower gear I can hear a definate whining or nearly whistling sound .. hard to judge where its coming from (not from me anyway) and it seems to be at its loudest after the car has properly warmed up .. say after half an hour.
2. My speedo's are out by about 10% .. is this normal???
3. Had the car looked over by an independant a few months back .. worst fears .. rms
However he assured me there was but the barest weep .. My neighbours can find me most mornings with head and shoulders under the rear axle .. Have found no oil spotting on the driveway , nor is there much if any drop in the oil level in 2 months.Is the rms likely to let me down when I least sxpect it?
4. AM I GOING COMPLETELY HATSTAND? IS THERE A DOCTOR ON BOARD???

My digital speedo reads over the analogue. Did you know you can switch you digital speedo to KPH in a few seconds? V. handy back home.

Ta Irish .. I've got it on kms .. just not sure if that's the accurate one or if it's over reading .. and if it IS over reading then the total mileage is prob. showing 10%higher than it should ... aaargh .. I wish I didn't love the dang thing soooo much!!

Right but both the analogue and digital are in the same car - surely they should agree with each other?

My 993 does the same - the digital reads about 5-10% faster than the analogue.
