The photos I took from Ace Cafe meet :)
Discussion
Some of the contrast on the pics will have to be altered, the sun was really low first thing in the morning - that was before it went FREEZING!!
Next time I come to a Monaro meet, please remind me to wear my thermals! Hahaha!
Great to meet some of you, will let you know when I've done my article for Girlracer.co.uk website, the same pics are up on the GR forum and everyone's going mad for Monaros.....I've started something now !

Hate to be piccy Sarah but it was not a Monaro meet, neither was it an HSV meet really, more a day of celebrating Australia and the cars they make & export to blighty with the main attendance from the HSV drivers forum

Hi Sarah, bit off topic I'm afraid
but I was looking at your website
www.girlracer.co.uk/gr2006/events_brandstrack.htm
sounded like you enjoyed it as much as me, it was a great day.
Oh...it was my other half that went into the gravel in the TVR Cerbera
but in his defence he did actually have the instructor with him at the time okay back on topic....nice pics

Crikey!!! Seriously small world then!!! Did I get to talk to you then as I was trying to get round as many girlfs at that trackday to interview them for GR? I'm a huge fan of TVRs which is why I always end up getting them in an article somehow or other. Just embarrassing that I was ribbing your blokes driving skills haha!
If I had a TVR I'd floor it round Brands aswell....no matter what the instructors say! Say hi next time round......I'm definitely gonna try and come along/gatecrash the VXR day on April 9.....
Sarah

I didn't get to see you, I did meet a few other ph'ers, but if I wasn't driving then I was in the passenger seat.
I'd booked the day for my husbands birthday, but sneakily put my name down as the extra driver
The cerbera is so addictive and such a buzz to drive
There is a big meet coming up in feb, are you going? looks like it should be quite good

if not see you around some other time

It used to be a general Australian car meet, but it got hijacked and now nobody else bothers to show up.

Or...is it that those who put the effort in turn up and those that dont .....dont?
That's true. All credit to the guys that show up, and a fine display of cars (if not driving) is put on by all. It is a shame that both the Ace Cafe Australian events tend to be at somewhat antisocial (weatherwise) times of the year which suit the modern cars and the daily drivers, while the older cars tend to be wrapped up for the 'winter season'.
Credit to Mark and James, and the Torana and WB/HQ (not sure which model it was) ute owners for bringing their older cars out.
Sadly, the F6 Typhoon was in for accident damage repair last week, as the owner was keen to come along. Maybe for the Bathurst event in October.
However, when you publish a parking map of the Ace Cafe car park that makes no allowance for anyone-else (apart from HSV's and Vauxhalls), then there is little incentive for others to bring their cars out.
Having said that, congratulations on putting on a great show of Australian iron. Nice to see the cars have such enthusiastic owners, and making their mark on the modern classic/modern muscle scene.
