I've been using Rain-X for years and it just lets the water bead up and roll right off the windscreen at speed. Great stuff!
Try a Yahoo or Google search in the UK to see if there are any Rain-X dealers anywhere over there and get yourself some.

That stuff works really well except for one thing (its probably just me) but I find at speed the raindrops going up the screen at high speed incredibly distracting. Mainly at night, on lit motorways. On a dark road its great-I don't even have to use the wipers if I'm going fast enough, but under light I just can't stop my eyes from following the droplets as they speed upwards...Is it just me?

Local Hellfrauds usually stock Rain X. I think there's an offer on at the moment.

One of the best things you can buy from car spares is RainX. Also the Rainx anti mist stuff works well too.

There's a much better product than Rainex called Ombrello(silly name!! I know)

I use it on all the family cars windscreens and helmet visor

1 treatment will last about 10 months, It's more expensive than rainex but more superior
IMHO.

It's available from www.weathertec.co.uk

Above 35 mph I find the use of wipers unnecessary even in the heaviest of downpours

Might try the other one when my stock has run out though..

I'm sure someone told me that you can use the same stuff to coat showers and bathroom mirrors; one clean it stops them misting up so badly.. Can't remember if that was on the basis of having tried it, or just thought it might work..

Any idea what their anti-fog stuff is like compared to rain-x's product?

Hi all

Is this Rainex stuff ok to use on the rear plastic window?

Wont turn the plastic brittle or yellow or anything?

Regards

There is a note on the instructions NOT to use on plastics or materials with a protection layer on them. Hence I won't use it on either the Griffs rear window or my helmet visor.

My first post on PH. I have used rainex for years (well 3 or 4 anyway) and it works very well. Intend to use the Rosso pearl Griff tommorrow on A134 from Sudbury to Colchester so someone please spot me!
