As above really. What do you TVR owners consider the daddy of the TVR purely in performance terms?and why?Im halfway convincing myself to buy a porsche 911 but cant help thinking the TVR,s are pretty awesome value for money(the wife thinks the porsche is a ridiculus amount of money to spend on a car).Im only interested in a car on pure performance terms i.e regular trips to the nurgburgring but practical enough to actually drive there.Sorry to sound so niave but im going into marques of cars i was previously unable to afford,so some friendly advice would be welcomed.

has to be a cerbera, 4.2 lightweight if possible.
ajp v8 engine, loads of power and charisma, tho stylings a bit old (classic) now.

T350 or Sagaris are the ones if you are into the modern machinery, but i would rolling road it and get one with 10K on it as the SP6 engine can be somewhat...erratic??

I would have thought the Sagaris / Tuscan 2 - I'm sure owners will fill you in.

I'm a Porsche convert to a T350 Targa. It's fantastic, a real drivers car. Certainly not the build quality of a porker, but you can forgive it everything on the right road with the right weather. Ohhhh the noise..!

depends what your reqs are.
Cerbera has generally been the daddy of TVRs. The tuscan 1 never got close. The latest crop get very close. A sagaris might pip it in many respects BUT it aint a V8, I 'wont' afford one and it doesnt have 4 seats.

Cerbera here too.

its got one of the greatest engines of any road car ever, its drop dead gorgeous and they're surprisingly versatile too.

Of all time - must be the 450SEAC. Relatively speaking must have been the most expensive at least, nearly £40,000 15 years ago! Not that I'm biased....

Ive been used to the awd of my nissan pulsar,no electronic gizzmos, but the awd has saved me on a few occasions!Im really looking forward to a more driver orientated car(rwd). The pulsar was another must have car when i was a kid,so thats why i bought it.Ive taken the car to 400bhp and ive come to a juncture where i can afford to either buy a porsche or take the pulsar to silly BHP levels but the little nissan has a real issue with weak gearbox casings ,even with uprated quaiffe internals.Does the gt2/3/rs suffer any weakness,s when modified ?

If AWD has saved you a couple of times in the Nissan Pulsar "pocket rocket with go-kart handling", are you really sure you want a RWD 300BHP+ lightweight car?

would that be a 4.5 lightweight with an engine swap-out to 4.2, or a 4.2 with lightweight 4.5 body parts?
