Yup, 135. Non-VVC.

Check the head gasket issue on the 135R though - some could be a bit brittle. BTW nearly all the tests I read showed them as making about 145 bhp. With the lower weight, performance about the same in a straight line as the 111s. Very quick around the corners though.

Take a 111S and install sports suspension, an uprated ARB, A048s and a CR gearbox then you got yourself a 160R ... I'm 25% of the way there !

Editied to say FFS I spent a heap of time in the fixed font editor getting the columns to line up and its all over the place in the proportional font forum. Arse, then I spend aload more time putting spaces in and it still donest line up. If you want an excel table email me.

Expensive way to do it - get a 135R (cheaper 2nd hand) and stick some cams in 160R!!

Guy on SELOC has one with a hurricane, 4 into 2 into 1 and backbox doing 154bhp.

C/r gears make all the difference I had no problems keeping up with 111R's until over 100mph. Susp is a bit extreme but comes into its own on track. I have the Lotus promo sheet and can email if interested (email in my profile)

Mine is one of 4 rumoured blue cars not to have suffered HGF. 20k on the clock 5k of which was the previous owner on the gumball. Pic in my profile.....

I have had several "kick myself for not buying a 135R in the first place" sessions already, but rationalise my approach as I wanted a dark blue Elise (all of my card MUST BE dark blue) and paying for staged hardware upgrades is far more fun than a respray.

you are fine with saffron yellow ones if you are concerned about hgf... definitely the best incarnation of the elise if you are looking for a pure sportscar... a tad harsh for anyone seeking more of an alrounder though.
