Your best bet for a ferry will be one from Dover, plenty of choice of operators and times and the journey down to LM is now 90% motorway if you want.

For tickets look up MRI, Just Tickets, Page and Moy, Airtrack or the firm that advertises on the banner above (although I've never heard of them before...) Just check their prices with the official site ( www.lemans.org ) before booking, so you know how much you are paying for the convenience.

Being on the East side, you'll do best heading down to Dover, catching a SpeedFerries (cheapest)boat or the Chunnle and then heading down on the A16 to Rouen and on to LM (motorway all the way now - apprently about 4 hours). Then either camp in Blue Car Park (cheap and just drive up and pay (before friday lunch, it will be pretty much full by then) - but no facilities), Camp in an ACO official site (tickets are now a bit limited) or one of the more expensive organised sites. Tickets Direct may still have some packages left that will give you ferries and sites or even Hotels (loose alot of atmosphere though), Try looking on the help section of www.club-arnage.com forum you'll find all the info you need.
Just get there, you'll have a blast!

I'm in Mildenhall, (which is on your way - if you're going to Dover) you could join us for the Journey down if you wanted, I'm in a single car convoy (Another Porsche) to Dover then hoping to meet with others at the port. Heading down for a 7:00 am ferry (Speed Ferries) on Wednesday 14th June.

I've booked with Team Langoustine who can sort out your camping/entry (if they still have tickets) then all you need to sort out is the ferry!

When I booked, the 1st-tickets guy only had Beauséjour and Bleu Nord tickets left. I'm headed to Beauséjour.

Nice car as well, mate, good colour hope the top-end rebuild makes as much of a difference as mine did

Cheers!

COMPLETE ENGINE REBUILD now complete and being 'run-in' havent had a chance to give her any welly yet obviously , but she is nice and smooth in the 'lower rev range'.....................Grrrrr frustration

No real idea what the facilities are....this is all new to me as well!

I had the same thing with my 964 - complete rebuild, lots of new bits, lots of cash!
Just coming to the end of my running in period and looking forward to giving it some. Rebuilt decatted as well, and there's a noticeable power difference

Im thinking of sticking an air box/filter and maybe SS exhaust when I go back for engine service (1500 miles), shouldnt really be spending the money but hey - if it sounds as good as it looks Im gonna be even happier arent I (he says twisting his own arm up his back)...

Oooh, and I really fancy a sub just to compliment the becker unit I put in last year - just for when I need a break from the gentle purr of the 6.

Cheers for the info mate, I'll give them a bell tomorrow and see whats left.

Must sort the ferry booking out too........

You know you can still buy Beausejour tickets from the ACO at face value? I'm not sure what face value is for BSJ (MB is around sixty quid) it'll be a lot less than you're paying, plus you don't have to buy overpriced general admittance tickets as well.

would avoid them like the plague IMHO, absolute bandits, appear to be out to rip you off at every opportunity..

far cheaper to organise it yourself, speedferries for the crossing, speedchills for hospitality + face value tickets, you're then looking at £60 each rather than £200 each with MRI. They must be laughing all the way to the bank.

My self and other more knowlegable friends have found them ok over the years.
Heard loads of negative stuff about the 'hospitality'company you mention on other PH'ds forums too.
I think the £60 for everthing , ferry, camping ,Gen ticket etc is a tad optimistic!!

As long as people are happy with their lot.....

I make it 70 quid a head for us - was less last year when we used Speed Ferry.

£60 camping pass, £90 ferry, £20 each GA (I think that's an overestimation)adds up to £210 in total that's £70 per head.

It is actually a tad cheaper as there are four of us paying for the camping pass but he get's a media pass so I've left him out of the equation to avoid too much complication!!

Each to their own!

Yep obviously works out cheaper the more people per vehicle you can stuff in....!

Yes it does but with ferry costs as cheap as they are now with Speedferries it isn't that pricey if you take more cars. However more cars means more camping passes and IIRC the ticket agencies want you to buy two (overpriced) GA tickets per camping pass.

Yep,myself & friends enjoy taking over our separate cars for the drive, so we won't be winning the 'Cheapest trip award'....we'll ruddy enjoy though!
