Any comments from Gordon Murray re the Carrera GT?

Ive been scouring the internet looking for any comments Gordon Murray has made regarding the Carrera GT. What are his thoughts on the car? Is there anything out there that ive obviously missed, as i cant find anything with google?

I chose the Ferrari 206 because it oozes style, aggression, and sex in equal proportions. It proves small cars can look dynamic and as a bonus it was designed by my good friend Mauro Forghieri.

I think i caught a bit in this months evo where he says he understands why porsche chose the manual gearbox over a paddleshift semi auto (or semi manual as they should be called imo!).

The problem with that idea is that porsche were working on a double clutch semi auto box for the car but couldnt get it ready in time (apparently).

Still, great car, amazing sound. i wonder how it would fair on a day to day basis?

Also, people seem to think that he's hung up on his own stuff inside his own hermetic world, yet he chose six Italians. I'd say that there's a lot to the man.

The same evo article provided the top-ten-sexiest lists of a number of other observors of aesthetic matters. Almost all the observors were proper car people, but one was a character described as "Brian Sewell, art critic and broadcaster". What I presume was the same Brian Sewell was on Radio 4 this morning, participating in a brief but suffocatingly trivial debate. What a pompous, insufferable buffoon!

the last few things i have read from him always seem to qualify any praise with a large BUT. i just wish he'd stop critisising (even though i can't fault his chapman-esque 'less is more' philosophy) and build something new.

he does appear to have forgotten the db4gt zagato from his list which in my mind is borderline treason.

The fact that at the moment there is no creation from GM in sight is not down to lack of interest on his part.
He's been working on his "citycar" idea for quite a while. Reportedly he would be interested in doing some Noble/430ish sort of thing as an alternative.
I don't know what it would cost to get either project running at a GM level of thoroughness and quality. As a guess, £10m+ for the sports car and - who knows - at least £50M, maybe £100M for the citycar.

now we're talking. difficult to see how one moves the game on significantly in that sector unless a composite tub can be squeezed into £100k price tag. he doesnt strike me as the kind of chap who would be content producing a marginal improvement...
