I read that as well, I honestly can't see where 100k goes, unless the diamonds and rubies are worth at least 60-70k on their own.

I think most of that price must be because you have everything on your own, the restaurant, the ballroom, the plane, which (and this was told to the missus on the train in, she disagreed of course!) is that would you want all that on your own? No atmosphere, just you, and the waiters/band/pilot.

Would you want to dance on your own, in an entire ballroom, with everyone looking at you thinking; you poncy tt, you wasted all that money on this.

You could do all that, and have some atmosphere, properley, for about 20k, and not look a tosser to boot.

Just my couple of pence.

Yeah, the money's to have the place to yourself, the jewels, the private jet to Paris... I bet they're laughing all the way to the bank with this one.

Mind you, how pssed off would you be if you did all this and didn't get to take her up the oxo tower...

Are the mega rich THAT stupid ? How did they get rich ?

I cooked my wife some chicken in a white wine, cream and taragon sauce and it seems to have worked well !! Might be the fresh asparagras that makes it more romantic- I tend to budget £10 including the wine !!!

I've long considered the best way to get rich was to fleece the rich...

OK forgive me for being out of the PH loop here, I can gauge from this thread what 'OXO tower' implies but is this just a PH colloquialism or more generally known ?

Tell, you what - a good way to find out would be to try using it in this context in day-to-day conversation and see what the reaction is ...

I bet most of us read the title in the vixpy way.

(I feel corrupted)

I agree the Tower Dinner is too expensive, but us girls still like a big fuss on valentines day.

Not the future MrsJimothy. She wants to recreate our first valentiens day this year - veging out with pizza and South Park the movie!
