JZM laser jammers on roadside BEWARE

On my way back to work yesterday from JZM, lunchtime, I was pootling along at 69mph on the dual c/way between the M25 r/bout and the large Asda r/bout, got pulled over by two plod with their laser, apparantly the speed imit is 40, despite changing various times in the 4 mile stretch from 40-50-70.

Didn't even issue me with a 3 pt £60 fixed pen notice, said I would receive a summons for a bigger telling off!!!

Annoying thing is my LRC jammer is sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted.

So if you are in and around the Watford area or visiting JZM be careful.

Ouch, bad luck. They will give you a (hopefully small) ban for that as it's 25mph over the posted limit. On the bright side, jammer use is a legal minefield and it could have been worse if you had had it fitted... if they had caught onto the fact you had jammed them they may have tried to take things further. Works well against scamera vans but not so well against bored trafpol who know what jammers do and look like.

Jammers are "legal" to have on your car if you have electric gates that they operate, but I also read with interest the same applies to outside house lights that are operated by the LRC and these can be fitted at very low cost making the LRC legal to have on your car as it operates outside house lights....and just happens to jam police lazer !

I don't think that loophole would be 100% reliable. I looked into it quite a lot a year ago. Basically the police could say it should be a switchable device in the car, so that it shouldn't interfere with speed detection equipment whilst on the move.

I've got an LRC, so I'm with you on this, but I leave it switched off these days. You can be lasered from the back anyway, and I'd probably have had to have 3 jammers to be sure... too much money... plus the garage door opener on top.
