Is it me or is Pistonheads taking longer and longer to load each page?

It was painfully slow earlier. Took about a minute to load each thread in here. Back to 'normal' now though.

While I'm on, as it were, can the system be tweaked so that once you've posted a reply, it automatically goes back to the page of the thread you were on? At present you have to wait x for the message box to appear, x for your message to be submitted, x for the first page of the original thread to appear and then another x to get back to the page you were reading (if it has more than one page). Just a thought.

As most PHers seem to be in IT, perhaps we could organise a little free cable round everyone and link us all up with Broadband????

Thats a good idea, if you have not finished a long thread sometimes you have to read it all again agter posting to remember were you were. Or maybe it's just coz I'm Dim.

If you display in 'newest post first' order, then after you've posted you get the newest, i.e. your, post first.

After posting, could you not just use your "back" button (to find the thread page you posted from), then refresh that page, if necessary?

Also, (Not wanting to nit-pick but...)

when I brush my mouse over the top columns, (Search, What's new, etc) they drop down, but take an age to go back up again, and slow the paper down immeasurably.
