I don't think this is an impossible request - but I don't seem to be getting anywhere from my own research .....

The Kinkmobile currently has a standard cassette player and 6-CD changer attached. I've got to rip out the head and changer and effectively replace with a new system.

Rather than replace a like for like - I was thinking of perhaps replacing the head with a built-in multi-play CD unit - ie - it's all in 1 unit. I could fit a double-Din unit as I have the space for it.

Alternatively - I'm looking at something like a hard-disk type thing that I can plug into my PC - download a few hundred CDs to it and away I go simple as that.

But I can't seem to find anything at all that fits within my budget - £250ish.

I don't want an iPod unit of any sort.... don't want a single-play CD ..... I don't want a USB player of any sort ..... I just want a simple multi-play CD all-in-one unit or a plug-in type hard disk that can plug into my PC so I can download my stuff onto it.

Has anyone got any suggestions at all?

Many thanks in advance,

K

P.S. - if it's at all relevant - it's to fit into a Honda Shuttle

Get a CD player that recognises mp3 discs.

Then you can have approximately 10 albums on the one disc. If you want to change the albums, just burn another - CDRs are cheap.

PoD - would the same work with DVDs - ie - 4.7 gig of music as opposed to 700+mb on a CD.

Possibly, although not for £250 I reckon.

Cheers for that.

I'll have a dig around tomorrow for possible units that support DVDs - to see possible prices.

Thanks again,

MP3 discs are one option and are pretty good. But some JVC headunits have DVD support so you can have upto 4.7gb of mp3s on it. Its worth coisdering plus most of the newer JVC headunits are currently supporting flash memory cards (SD/MMC I believe) so you can have loads of songs on one disc/card.
Its worth noting that Alpine are releasing a new headunit which features a much improved and faster iPod adapter inbuilt (so you dont need an adapter), that may be worth considering. You may need to buy a iPod but thats no bad thing

Thanks for the reply Adam.

To be honest - I'm quite happy with a unit that could handle a DVD.

I don't think I need an iPod - as it would only be used for this - and I don't see the point as I've not other use for one.
