Porsche 996 PX for Cerbera ?

I'm toying with the idea of swapping,p/x my 996 for a cerb,but,few thoughts I would like to share ...

My car at the moment is a 99 red aero kitted 996 with around 70 odd k on it,virtually immaculate and worth around 27000.

Now heres my main concern..,depreciation.

I'm not tight with money,but I like to look after it !

My cars now worth 27k.Now,going by similar porsches and the money they hold(even 993's and older 911's) in 2-3 years time my car is still going to be easily still worth over 20k,being hopeful 23k.

But,although I really want a cerb I think the financial hit may be to great,any cerb worth 27k today may only be worth 15-16k in 2-3 years,going by cerbs a few years older than ones I'm aiming at.

Am I making sense ? , am I answering my own question ? , some helpful advice please..

I know the pros and cons of cerb ownership by the way,and I really feel theres no way up from the 996, as in my opinion its one of the best cars out there,I'm just after a change.

If your worried about the depreciation the the Cerb is probably not for you, as on top of that you have the repair bills which can make the depreciation look trivial.

However..

If you want a car that'll make the porker feel sssslllooowwww then your heading in the right direction. After all you can get a cheaper Cerb and keep the depreciation money for repairs

If you're convinced of the 996s superiority, why not get a better 996, eg a GT3? The other solution would be to get a "cheap" Cerb for fun. The older ones are now down to 968 money.

Have a look what dealers a charging for low milage 02/04 4.5 Cerbs, it would seem to be the best TVR investment at the moment. Racing Green have an 04 RR at a fiver off 50K! Mind you, sounds like a luvley car, yum

Echo that... there's a big difference with the GT3, and depreciation seems pretty good on that. Bills won't be in TVR territory!

I think most people buy TVR's and forget about the depreciation, I know I did when I bought my Cerb a few months back, the loss of money will not bother you after 3 years of driving it believe me . I always wanted a TVR, I now own a TVR and I will always own a TVR as long as the finances allow me to do so because it is the love of my life - nothing cheers me up like my TVR, especially not as much as my Cerb did.

The Cerbera was my dream car, I loved every minute of owning it and if I won the lottery or what ever I would def buy another it was that good for me
