go on then, let us know who annoys you in the office and why

For me, it is because my boss eats like a monkey and shouts down the phone instead of merely talking.

The eating is truly hilarious. To eat, he bends over his desk (where the food is) and uses both hands to stuff as much food into his mouth as possible (this takes a good few seconds). He then sits up straight, looking like he's drowning, and tries to contort his mouth sufficiently to chew and swallow the food. Bonkers - and rather funny!! The crowning glory is that he then usually starts conversations whilst eating - and all the words (and sometimes food) have to come past half a ham roll and a fistful of crisps.

My colleague has a beard, works in IT and his hobbies are amateur radio and computers. You can see why I spend most of my time on PH

Hmm - not so much annoying co-workers as annoying uni housemates (going back a decade here, jeeze I'm getting old).

Shared a flat with Terry Tooth, Teller of Tall Tales (what were his parents thinking?). He was in the T.A. and regularly made up fanciful stories of weekend warrior life; escorting ammo up and down the country (another uni mate who was ex-regular army said it would've been boxes full of stones, 'cos the army used to make them up before going on weekend leave, just so the T.A. could come and play soldier), and getting Gen. Sir Peter De La Bilier (sp? head of HM forces in Gulf War 1) p*ssed in a mess one evening!

Another T.A. housemate a couple of years down the line, James the Incredible Bullsh*tting Man. Went on a run one Tuesday evening with the T.A., came back to the flat and said to me "now I know what your dad felt like in the Marines"... contact between my foot and his boll*cks was very tempting at the time. Apparently, he could run (in full kit, over broken ground) 100yds, drop prone, and loose off three aimed rounds in 10 seconds.

I really hope they weren't truly representative of the T.A. as a whole!

My assistant drives me mad.

He is a complete geek.

He always trys to talk about geek things to me when I am busy (trying to read PH etc. and yes he is talking now).

Everyone at work thinks he is odd.

He disagrees with almost everything I say or tell him to do.

Today he has completely surprised me and given me a huge birthday cake.

My underling who works for me is a total loser with money.....he has about £40k of debt (no mortgage,no house,no decent car, nothing to show for his debt)...however he still tries to 'keep up with the jones' when i buy anything...i.e. Plasma TV, Sony walkman etc....he just goes out and increases his loans or gets another credit card

To make matters worse, he has just married a woman with 3 obnoxious children and they are all bleeding him dry (he took on a load of her debt too)......he comes to work and tells us all about it and we don't really want to know.....it loses him a lot of credibilty........mind you, that happened when he went on a diet for 4 months and only lost 3 pounds

I used to work with someone with exactly the same story.. he too married a woman with 3 obnoxiuous children. It ended in divorce with him losing the house his mother left him
