exhaust project

Is there anyone in the north east area who has a knackered exhaust that i could borrow to make a template from...it doesnt matter if it has got holes in it, just as long as it is straight and the same shape as a chim exhaust should be (ie not come from a car that has been side swipped!!!)
I would use mine but i use the car every day and cant afford to take it off the road .

How long would you need it for? If only for a short while, it'll only take an hour to take mine off... Or try and speak to Hexham and see if they have any scrap ones about that they have taken off other cars.

Unlikely, but you could also try one of the exhaust suppliers (JP Stainless in Mackelsfield supply the likes of ACT (01625 619916)) who may be able to supply a drawing.

Hello Paul,

I need it to build a jig...so it might be quite some time. Good idea about Hexham, i am going up there this weekend as it happens so i can ask then. Have got a plan and made some sketches to fabricate a part to take the place of the rear silencer box with stright thru tubes but you can put the box back in for the mot!!!

just to let you know have done the same to exhaust too!! box out and 2 stainless pipes all welded up nice and neat...well gas proof anyway!! sailed thro last mot without reverting to box back on...just a lot louder,as long as yr emissions ok shouldn't be a mot issue......mark

What diameter pipe did you use?

was 2.5 or 3 inch iirc,will try to dig a piece out and check.sounds like a mad bike under hard acceleration now!!
