Sourcing LHD GT3 in UK
Discussion
Guys,
Can you help me identify individuals/dealers etc. in the UK who have GT3's Mk 1 or 2 for sale.
Looked in Germany but can't really find anything there at the momnent.
Secondly, where can I buy good priced Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires in the UK to fit a Gt3 and/or 993RS?
Thanks

Other than UK OPC's www.porsche.co.uk there are otheres like Paragon and Camtune that occasionally have one or two in stock. There is another GT3 post on here at the moment that highlights the lack of GT3's that there are currently for sale in the UK at the present time.
As for Michelin Sport Cup's, there are only 2 or 3 dealers in the UK and they all charge exactly the same price. My recollection is that Protyre and Silverline are the only dealers that I have bought from. In all cases the price is ridiculously high given the complete lack of tread and the fact they very quickly become illegal for use on the highway after a day or two on track.

Got mine from Camtune last year (check their site regularly, occasionally you get a real find, mine came with around 1200 miles on it).
I think mcpmotorsport have one.
Also try gmundcars.com, rsjsportscars.com, 911virgin.com (tho i've never seen one there), autotrader.co.uk should capture all of these. Check the classifieds on here and also check 911uk.com which has loads of classifieds.
Cheers and good luck

swe993rs,
Have you looked on www.uk.mobile.de ?
I sourced mine from a dealer in Berlin last year that was advertising on that site. There are loads on there, both private and trade.
Good luck with your search.
Cheers,
Chris

Those seats would be all wrong for me - each to their own though, lots of people like them.
For me, having the buckets and a cage mean that i can get well snug in the seat on track with the harnesses. Once you've done that on track, getting into a car on track with a normal diagonal lap belt feels very exposed.
Cheers

23000 miles and "never tracked".... bollox.
anyway so what if it has???
as long as they are well maintained, they can take it easily.
Does 'never tracked' make any real difference to the ease of sale / resale value? Surely what matters is whether or not tracking a car has had any impact (no pun intended!) on it - I'd rather have a car that's been tracked but still got decent paintwork over one that hasn't been tracked but has loads of shopping trolley dinks!
Anyway, www.lhdporsche.co.uk have them sometimes (and offer a sourcing service). No idea what they're like to buy from but worth a look I guess.

Never tracked.
Virgins come at a premium....
It all comes down to cash.
No point whatsoever of paying a premium for a car never tracked (if you can ever convince yourself of that in the first place) - if you then do 15 trackdays a yr on it.
Bit like paying a big premium for a low miles car and putting 40,000 miles on it a year for 3 yrs.....now i'm beginning to sound like Henry...
