Folks, yes, yet another blatant plug here...

I've just registered the Chimaera for this years TVR Tuscan Challenge (Invitation class). I'm going to be #31 (yes I know its not #33 but a Tasmin has that, and yes there is a reason for #31, free cup of tea/coffee and bacon buttie at the round of their choosing to the first to give the reason...) Apparently there are now in excess of 20 cars registered for the series, which sees the TVRCC series merging as an invitation class of the Tuscan Challenge.

So if you want to see Tuscans, Griffs, Tasmins, old school Tuscans & Griffs, and of course the Chimaera; please come and see us.

The first race of the series at Oulton Park, Saturday 1st April. The rest of the (provisional) calender is
Sat April 15th Silverstone
Mon May 1st Castle Combe
Sat/Sun May 13/14th Pembury (double header)
Sun June 4th Spa Francorchamps
Sat June 24th Snetterton
Sat/Sun July 15/16th Silverstone
Sun August 20th Sun Mallory Park
Sat/Sun September 2/3rd Brands Hatch
Sat October 7th Oulton Park

See you at Combe on the 1st May. I'll probably be sniffing around the paddock/propping up the bar the night before so I'll come and say hello.

I think it would be best if I didn't meet you during the race!

Doug, pop into the awning, I'll make sure there's a box of donuts for you and your marshall post.

Good luck Iain, I take it you'll be up against my mate Marc Hockin, he'll be easy to spot you'll be looking at the back of a black Griff!

Seriously, all the best, I'll be at a few meets including Spa all being well.

The problem is Marc has a 5litre Takara engine...and er...I don't!!!

The plan was to run a road car in Class A of the TVRCC Challenge which limited the power to 150horses/ton,(Marc is a Class B car, 220/ton), as per the PH article last July time...then the car hit a lamp-post in August, so I thought ho hum, strip it out, go for a slightly torque-ier cam, 150/ton is still easily do able without limiting the revs too much, now it looks as if i could be caught between the Tuscan Challenge rules and the TVRCC rules where a 4litre car is very underpowered in a 3000cc to 7000cc class, but overpowered for a 150/ton class, so I've taken the decision just to race and if people want to put me in a class they can, otherwise I'll just race whoever is around me on the track and sod the ego's of class victories etc.

Maybe in 2007 I can put a fuggoff big engine but until then the intention is to finish every race I start (and start every race in the series) and if I can claim an unexpected scalp or two great.

Not so far as I'm aware...if you look here www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/about_tvr.asp they list 26 models to the Chimaera, but they omit a few Marks of cars eg Tasmin/280i should really be Tasmin FHC, Tasmin convertible, 280FHC, 280i, etc and the 280plus2 and the 350plus2. Not to mention the total omission of the Tina.

You really want a cuppa don't you!!!

keep up at the back, Mrs BC already did that one.

I reckon it's the number of teas they have before getting the toolbox out of the support van
