On the cerb ive got a clicking sound from the rear when i accelerate decelerate and change gear. now im nearly 100% sure that this is from the drivers side upright where the bush has either fallen out or perished away.
My question is how quickly do i need to address the situation??? it drives perfectly fine. i was hoping to leave it until summer if possible??

Sounds (sorry) like either a CV joint or a bearing. The usual symptom of a failed CV joint is a clicking that is worse accelerating (or braking, but usually not both) especially when cornering in one direction, and it goes away when you're coasting. If it's a CV joint it's no big deal to fix.
The usual symptoms of a failed wheel bearing is a clicking or whirring noise when cornering in one direction, it's relatively insensitive to small amounts of acceleration or braking.
If it's a wheel bearing it's still not a huge job as you catch it before it wipes anything else out, but don't leave it too long.
It's unlikely to be a diff bearing but if so you're looking at a rather more scary bill.

There is a joint between the Diff and the drive shaft and the drive shaft and hub.
Wou have to have CV's on the driven wheels, otherwise you will not have any suspension travel!

Very few cars use Hookes joints on the half shafts because they don't provide any dive; in order to stop the half shafts fighting with the suspension, you need to fit sliding splines etc which are notoriously problematic. The only way to avoid that is to make the half shaft a stressed suspension member (as in the jag/Wedge setup) and that introduces a whole new set of problems.
CVS joints are more or less universal these days, and all production TVRs from the S series onwards use them.
