wheel arch coating

After a great hoon around the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons on Saturday with Jeffsy,i cleaned all the mud off the car today,only to see more of the black coating coming off the inside of all the wheelarches,again.I've already lost some on previous washes.Does anyone know what the best thing to use,to replace this flaky coating would be?I was thinking along the lines of a spay can of stonechip?Have any of you guys had to do this job?Cheers,Mike

I used Hammerite Stone Guard from Halfords. It's OK, but doesn't key to the smooth GRP that well. Also it has a smooth finish. I've just bought some Tetrosyl Stone Chip, and I'll be trying that (on a different car - but if good it'll go on the TVR eventually) next week.

I used some stuff called Rubber coat, fantastic, dries like a tyre inside your wheel arch. I done mine naerly 3 years ago and it is still looking good.

i have use some of this stuff on a kit car I built and it is great stuff! I wanted to get some for the Tiv but carnt find out where to buy it. Any ideas?

All I done with mine, was clean off all the old flakes of paint, clean inside of wheel arch with white spirit, mask off outside of wheel arch. Then just paint the rubber coat on with a brush.
It is quite thick, but I didn`t have a problem with this, just applied a nice thick coating and let it dry.
Then hay presto - one rubber coated wheel arch.

Just rang that number for Carlife Ads, and its a private address, never heard of Carlife at this number !!

I had no luck either with the number either!I think it might be best removed to save the poor peeps getting any more unwanted calls,they've had a few apparently!

I don`t know if the frost stuff would be any good, as it seems like it is just ment for windscreens.

I`ll see if I can find out any more information.

I have edited all the addresses on here so that hopefully the poor person won`t get any more phone calls from us!

Might be worth painting the chassis in the pool paint, will definatly stop stone chips!
