Don't remember seeing this posted so far so appologies if it has been but...

Lots of changes to Le Sarthe for 2006 - not only is the whole back-of-pit-lane/village area being re-developed to be more spectator friends, but there is also quite a lot of circuit remodling going on. A lot of this is being driven to accomodate the motorbike GP.

Click on the road-works symbles and then click for the animated view to see where it was and where it will be.

Tetre Rouge camping is meant to be moving to the inside of the circuit.

Any more funfairs or important stuff?

Jeezus, that is one hell of a kink, the slower cars are going to struggle to get speed back up for the start/finish straight I'd imagine.

MB grandstand seems to be have been removed for now too.

The Dunlop chicane is after the start/finish straight before the run up to Tetre Rouge and the Mulsanne.

More concerned about them moving the viewing even further away from the track personally....

It will be interesting to see if they rebuild the viewing banking between the entrance and the Dunlop grandstand

And some people blame the football for the delay in the start .

Looking at the picture above makes me wonder whether Seb Loeb and Colin McRae are entered this year...preferably in WRC cars!

More importantly does the building of the tramway signal the final demise of the bar at Tetre Rouge !

I think it's sad that those in control of the circuit have no sense of history - are there any parts of the original circuit remaining?! I have always wanted to go, but not got round to it yet. Will there be anything left worth seeing? now that so much of what made the circuit what it was, has been bulldozed and reprofiled out of all recognition?

OMG is anything bloody sacred.

ACO REPEAT AFTER ME;

I MUST LEAVE ALONE LE MAN AND NOT TRY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN, ESPECIALLY IF IT AFFECTS THE CIRCUIT!

Bloody hell fire!

Looks like they have put another tunnel in that leads straight to the pits So probably wont see so many nice exotica etc coming through the other tunnel into the village and down to the pits..which the also look like they are replacing.

www.lemans.org/sport/sport/dossiers/travaux/ressources/plans/slides/plan_masse_1024.jpg

The plan for the new paddock area IMO suggests it will be less spectator friendly, more team and officials friendly? The old entrance half way up the hill has gone there is a tunnel for the tyre tech's and the main entrance is now at the bottom gate at the back of the ACO building, I would hope there would be a open area at the top end to allow access in to the new shops? The tunnel at the front gate is pedestrians only which is a much better way of getting people in and out but they will still have to dice with the infield traffic using the access road which passes along the back of the main gate. I put the link to the plan so have a look and see what you make of it.
