BBWF 2006 was on the books first and I for one will not be missing that just for a stick of rock and a chance of a photo next to an imitation French monument!

But for any Wedgers who wish to join in there will still be the option of quick blast up M6 for the last factory tour on the Sunday -

So come on you bought a Wedge to be different and stand out from the crowd so dont join the sheep in Blackpool on Saturday come to Ettington with the Wolves!

Won't the traders be asking themselves the same question? If Back Home are going to be having trade stands, the traders will surely go for the biggest audience, which could leave BBWF a bit flat. It's a pity someone with inside TVRCC dealings didn't say something when the weekend for BBWF was set, because their event has obviously been planned for quite a while.
I'm a Wedge fan more than a TVR fan, and BBWF is something pretty special, but to see all the different TVRs at Blackpool Airport is going to something equally good. I think I'll be opting for Back Home. It's just a shame I have to choose.

Just to be transparent..

We have been in contact with TVR for a while now (since before Christmas) regarding this event.

The dates however have only been firmed up recently in meetings with TVR and the council and we have been allowed to go public with these dates and some of the proposed elements of the event in the past week.

The dates are fixed for good operational reasons on TVR's part. They really cannot move these. As I am sure you will all understand this is a wonderful opportunity to take part in an event with TVR, give the public a hell of a show and see the factory at its current location for perhaps the last time before they move.

As you will understand, we were not allowed to publicise the dates until they were approved by all parties and the decision to go full steam ahead was taken.

During all these talks (as soon as the dates were first mooted but not confirmed)we have been in contact with Alan Toomey to make sure that we could work together to minimise disruption.

Yes - this is an unfortunate clash. It is not a deliberate one and in conversation with Alan we will work together on this - hence the proposed convoy up on the Sunday

I've seen the factory twice and came away empty-handed both times I tried all the car doors, but they were locked

So it's off to the BBWF and leave a space for some deserving soul...

From what I've heard and I'm happy to be corrected - then only TVR dealers are invited because it's a TVR do.

Traders as far as I know won't be there..

Stainless - I'll be doing both : wedge fest on Sat and Back home on Sunday - I'm sure there will more that a few wedges

No way will it fall apart Badred. Yes it looks like a split on the Sunday. However how many will have the stamina for a 3 hour drive to the windy city with a hangover remains to be seen! Also bear in mind its TVR Car Club members only (another reason why BBWF was formed).
Saturday at BBWF will be awesome, Sunday may be difficult to plan unless we can gauge who's going where.
I personally would love to do the factory tour except for 2 reasons

1. For me the logistics don't add up
2. I refuse to be led up to Blackpool like a sheep (no Welsh jokes please).
to join a party thats already in full swing feeling like an outside looking in, doing TVR and Blackpool Councils PR work.
Some may say its sour grapes, but I say its loyalty.

I prefer being part of an event we have created ourselves, and the opportunity to take my car up the strip at a reasonable cost is unmissable.

But that's just my preference, the beauty of the BBWF Sunday is choice. Racing TVR tasmins and Tuscans at Silverstone 20 miles away, Dragging at Shakespeare County Dragway with your own car 10 miles away, or driving 3 hours up a motorway and handing over a wedge of cash to view the old TVR factory.

How much is TVRCC charging for the factory tour, on top of membership, and how long do you actually get to spend poking round?

I'll be sticking to plan 'A' and supporting our free event.

Charging - nowt for tour (Unless you go mad buying regalia etc)free event
Other modules - not sure as we have not confirmed them - will do soon
To merely attend look on the Saturday prom element - free event!
For the party on the Saturday night - yes that will have a cost element, sorry
Time in factory - depends on how many want to look

Looking into the pool a bit too deep me thinks
Good luck to BBWF but as you say its not a TVRCC do ! It wasnt designed that way but does turn out to be bad luck

Just a further thought (they are forming very slowly today) Have you ever tried to get to Blackpool on a summer Sunday morning. The M55 is jammed with Astras, Novas and Saxos full of ASBOs going to the sea front for their dinner cus someone burned the chippie down in Moss Side the night B4. Not the kind of traffic I want to be in in the 400. You would be safer on the drag strip. No, if I ever felt the need to go to Blackpool again it would be in the 4X4 complete with Bull Bars and Gun rack. Death Race 2006 is not my idea of a fun Sunday.
