Back Home 2006 Weekend Date Announced

Just picked this up off the TVR Car Club site :
The TVR Car Club in conjunction with TVR Engineering Ltd is pleased to announce that Back Home 2006 will take place at Blackpool on Saturday/Sunday 15th/16th July.

We have been in contact with TVR for a while now (since before Christmas) regarding this event.
The dates however have only been firmed up recently in meetings with TVR and the council and we have been allowed to go public with these dates and some of the proposed elements of the event in the past week.
The dates are fixed for good operational reasons on TVR's part. They really cannot move these. As I am sure you will all understand this is a wonderful opportunity to take part in an event with TVR, give the public a hell of a show and see the factory at its current location for perhaps the last time before they move.
As you will understand, we were not allowed to publicise the dates until they were approved by all parties and the decision to go full steam ahead was taken.
During all these talks (as soon as the dates were first mooted but not confirmed)we have been in contact with Alan Toomey to make sure that we could work together to minimise disruption.
Yes - this is an unfortunate clash. It is not a deliberate one and in conversation with Alan we will work together on this - hence the proposed convoy up on the Sunday

Nice one FFG. We've got a great weekend lined up, with everything on the agenda for the Sunday including The racing at Silverstone, or sprinting at Shakespeare county dragway (£10 in + £20 to enter), and even a convoy up the M6 to the lately announced TVRCC factory visit for the marque diehards.

Good for you Paul - I`m sure the Wedge Pirates will be doing likewise at the Growl again!
Like Roger & Dicky says the BBWF will big bigger, brighter and better than ever before with much more going on and there will be a wide choice of options on the Sunday from just lying in bed wondering why you had that 17th pint and where did all those black circles come from in the car park?
A "Run what you brung" event at the Shakespeare County Drag strip - to get those new Toyo`s bedded in!
or A Day at the Races at Silverstone - for those following this years series.
Or finally - a tour of your Wedges birthplace - for anyone with a Factory Fetish!
TIV owners have never had sooo much choice there must surely be something for everyone! Could be the BEST weekend of the year!

I know, if there was ANY way to arrange Back Home on another date we would have. I am gutted as I was planning to go to BBWF myself (and park the V8M round the back of the hotel out of sight)and now I will be at Blackpool helping with arranging the events. Having to choose between two great events is a pain and now I will have to wait till next year to get to BBWF....

Best weekend of the year - just too much choice.
Now all I need to figure out is how can I do the drag racing & factory tours at the same time
