LMFAO
We all know there is question mark over 996 Rear main oil seals
BUT
the last 3 993's i've had I've had to do the RMS on them
all were carrera 4 vario rams, 32,000 miles, 43,000 miles and 38,000 miles
I've never seen any posts regarding this problem on 993's
May be i've been unlucky??

What are the main differences between the 993 & 996 and which one would be best to buy. I`m thinking of spending around £25k but could find a little more if need be.

Hi Henry..
You're prob new on the porsche scene , but you're in luck. I happen to be selling a nice hi milage '98 996 with scant service history and the fms (everybody knows it's at the front of the crank case) has just been changed for only the third time.
Try to contain your exuberance..........

That sounds just the sort of thing I`m looking for. Would it be possible for me to book a time to come and have a test drive in it ? There`s a hill on the way to Spa Francorchamps that I normally use to get a good feel for the performance. Obviously I`m happy to make a contribution towards some petrol.
Also could you tell me what make of stereo is fitted, oh and what make of tyres. Also does it still have both of the cup holders as I`ve heard they can sometimes get lost.
Thanking you in advance for your help and understanding.
Excitedly - Henry
No I mean the bloody huge hill that goes on for about 10 miles before you get to the circuit. God I`m not stupid, I wouldn`t expect to test drive your car on a race track, that would be unreasonable. (Although - and I kid you not - we did once have a chap who asked if we were happy for him to test drive one of our cars on a race circuit if he paid for the hire of the track !).

Surely hiring a British track would cost more than most of the cars you have for sale!

Listen, quick word of advice - the reason you can't find a car is because you've clearly set out to find a pink flatnose 3.2 Carrera with pasha interior - not unreasonable I'd say - but you also want it to have original paintwork and around 14,000 miles on the clock...
Some people, honestly!
