Fastest Porsche ??

In Todays Financial Times page 33 companies & markets section there is an article on Cayenne sales.
A Frankfurt dealer quotes " This is a car sent from heaven we have a cross between a sports car & a utility vehicle"...Porsche have now pre sold the 1st years 25,000 production.
This suprised me until i read on...

"Customers added eur 10,000 in extras to the eur 100,000 Cayenne Turbo,it's most powerful version that can attain 266 kilometres an hour in 5.6 seconds"

Now by my calculations that is 165mph (in 5.6 secs), no wonder they are flying out the door I may have to get one!

I read somewhere that Porsche expect about 20% of Cayenne sales to be turbos. A car which value/performance wise is in a class of it's own (Exclude the Brabus ML73 as that costs £225,000 not £70,000).

The Cayenne S at £45,000 and 350bhp looks remarkable good value in comparison to the X5 4.6i and the ML55 AMG.

In short although at first the Cayenne looks a little strange, I think Porsche have got another winner.

Hopefully with all the money they're going to make from shifting another 25,000 vehicles a year they can get back to fundamentals such as Lemans.

Great idea - Porsche need this to maintain the legend and pedigree that enthusiasts appreciate.

Hi DeR.

I need to make a lot of money and secure my financial future before I can think of getting an ML73 (580bhp) although it'll be interesting to see what Brabus will do if MB stick the kompressor onto the ML55 (giving 476ish bhp like the E class and the SL)

What about your monthly outgoings then DeR? I heard Gemballa were building a 996 with 10,000bhp, trust you've got your name on the list! :ducksforcoverincasemrsderestricorisreadingtheboard:

When my luxobarge expires in about 6 years time though an ML55 with 60k on the clock at about £15k will definitely be on the short list for investigation.
