If only I followed this advice...

Downside is of course that the GM engineers designed the suspension etc for runflats. Non runflats have no impact on the sensors, only fitters who fit metal valve caps which of course then corrode which of course means when you try to remove one you break the valve which has the sensor integrated which means a £100 repair bill!
Its happened to me
Does anyone know where the best place/price to get a new one? Its part number 10438853 for my model year.

Ah that little gem! The ZO6 doesn't have them at all. Its all quite an interesting story that i had to look in to when I was choosing replacement tyres.
Anyway mark try www.gmpartsdirect.com/ if you have a US shipping address or Keith from Eurovettes (www.eurovettes.co.uk/).

Hey Mark, got back last week from Aus. Saw 2 vettes there but they were both C3's.
Insurance has been great they are so good. MCE are pretty good brokers but Ensign is the insurer and been very helpful and fast. Still sorting the value but should be done in a week or so. So the car is a write-off and yes there are 4 lovely chrome wheels available with TPM's all still intact! Not sure where its gone but I can get the info if you are interested.

Oh I also have a few brand new spares for the C5 i had left if you are interested or if anyone else is......
-7 quarts Mobil 1 5W-30
-Oil Filter - Al Delco
-Fuel Filter - Al Delco
-Set of Wipers
-Active Handling Steering Wheel Sensor - GM Part for Model '01-'02 is #2605 9047
-Set of Front Pads (about 10% used)
- A nice rear raised, red, reflective, insert for the rear bumper that sits in the Corvette lettering. Mashed the car before i could even put it on!

Think thats it. Havent decided what i gonna get though. Will be a vette eventually but i think i'll wait for the C6's to get a bit cheaper!
Good luck with the car.

Mark

There's one for sale on ebay at the moment,I think it's the right part number as well.I've had a similar problem except it was the internal valve that is corroded.Hope this helps.
