a bit off topic, but you reminded me of a saying by Sir Peter de la Billiere (ex head of the SAS) about our troops and the yank troops...

it was along the lines of "our boys can go into the desert for a month and survive on a tube of toothpaste, but the yanks can't go anywhere without a burger king and an ice rink!!!"
