Ok, the 360 streams music and photos beautifully (digital photos from my canon 350d look incredible on the slideshow)

Ipod also connects easily..

BUT.. how do you copy mp3 files onto the harddisk???

why do the pics look better , i mean if you show them on your TV which i seem to remember from one of your earlier posts is some sort of wide screen jobbi why would the 360 make them look better , surly its the screen whic dictates the pic quality as the 350D is taking pics of a high quality anyway

Not quite Marki, the quality on the screen depends on the quality of the source outputting the picture.

For instance, if I plug my camera staright into the TV, it displays at PAL resolution which is something like 588 lines.

If however I use the X-Box, I get much higher resolution, and so much better image quality.

yep, its a 43" wide screen tv but its an hd plasma running at 1080 lines (which i think is 1900 by 1000) or something like that ..,,anyway its really impressive and looks much better (just beacuse of the size) than my pc monitor (which is a 22"

theres a DRM protection thingy which stops you copying them over, i had the same problem with my mates the other night, did a google and found out. You can if you want stream music from your pc if you have a USB - USB cable. or you can burn the songs onto the 360 if you have a cd that you want on there, otherwise its a no go, which i think is rather gay.

The biggest gayness is having a truely awesome photo from PGR3, and I mean like this looks REAL and not being able to download it to your comp to have it as a desktop

You might not believe me but it seriously does look real!, if any of you have the game and have the second garage (converted barn) put an f430 in the inside garage where you can have 2 cars, in the right space. go to walk around garage and walk around to the back of the ferrari, aim the camera so it is on the left back side of the 430 and looking out towards the courtyard ---- IT ---- LOOKS ----- REAL!!!

edit to say i dont know whether colour was an issue with it looking real, but this was a white colour, the second one along when you choose the colour

If you want to listen to MP3's on your x-box and don't want to rip them all again onto the hard disk, i think this leaves you having to get an external USB disk drive. This can then plug into the x-box and store all your media.

Sure it must be impressive to see a slide show run on a 43 HD plasma , but as Dobbo pointed out i did not know you could improve over direct source
(as in the Camera) i need to look into this

Marki, quality should (roughly) be in this order:

Worst:
Sky Digital
Camera
X-Box 360 over standard cable
DVD player

Beter:
Progressive scan DVD player
X-box 360 over component video

Best:
X-box 360 over VGA cable
PC or laptop running at a plasma or LCD's native resolution.

For viewing pics, a PC should look better by far, but an X-Box 360 will look great also, miles and miles better than over the PAL output of a normal digi camera.

Ipod also connects easily..

BUT.. how do you copy mp3 files onto the harddisk???

Back to the original question

IIRC, you put your CD in the Xbox and go to the Media section on your Dashboard. Within here is the option to copy the disc to the hard drive.
