BATTERY DRAINING -- GRIFF 500

Battery seems to be draining on the Griff.Put it on overnight tricle charge,starts ok in the morning.Not enough charge in Battery to start again after an hour or so.Anyone any ideas?

Could be The Battery itself is Shagged and needs changing.
It shouldnt drain that quick unless u have a serious electrical fault. Does anything else electrical play up when it is running ie Driving lights flashing with indicators etc.

Everything appears to be working as normal,has been fine up until 2 or 3 weeks ago.Plot thickens.....

I think BB is right and your battery is cream crackered. To make certain, charge the battery, then disconnect one terminal, leave for a few hours, reconnect and try starting. If it fails to start then it's new battery time.

Sounds like the battery. If you are an occasional user of your Griff, then it will almost certainly be that. I had 5 new batteries in 2 years on mine. Griffs are famous for eating them.

Make sure you get one with a warranty - at £80 a shot, you don't want to keep buying them.

I vote for the shagged battery too - freezing temperatures seriously reduce performance. If you get a replacement from Halfords, they come with a two or three year guarantee automatically.

Thanks for your help guys.I would have thought it was the Battery.....It started playing up a couple of weeks ago....left sides lights on for 15 Mins or so...wouldn't start.Has not been holding charge properly since.

I too have had 2 new batteries in a years ownership?
Mine once also turned out to be charging circuit not working, fault traced to metal fuse under r/h side front chassis.
But quick check if you have a meter, is to make sure your'e getting 13-14 volts at battery positive terminal, to make sure charging okay...If any help?
