MOJO2 Re-design

I was looking for a small mid-engined designed kit car and found the MOJO 2 by SYLVA AUTOKITS.

I think that the car has a great looking chassis and nice body.
The chassis has a very simple design, but looks very strong, and having seen the TONIQ specialist car being built, using the existing westfield chassis with a new body design, I thought that it would be an interesting idea to do the same with the Mojo2 chassis.

I'm sending my renderings based on pictures found on the web of the Mojo. Tell me what you think about it and if you see potential on such a concept and an alternative to the original Mojo2.

I see it with engines that go from 1000 cc to 1.600 cc, bike engines for track day cars.

I think you'll find that the MOJO2 is already available with Zetec power, which is upto 2.0l, so why would you only offer 1600cc???

Also, I think you will have a fair amount of trouble getting a bike engine in the car - the car uses front wheel drive engine and transmission converted into the rear wheel drive with tie bars holding the steering arms on the knuckles fixed.

Not bad. Certainly makes a modern change from all the usual '7' derivatives though I think you'd have to extend the rear a little to accommodate the running gear and suspension.

Why not approach Sylva direct and see if they'd be interested in co-producing a mock-up to display at shows next year?

Point taken on the ZETEC, but I never thought of the 2.0l engine because its hard to find here in Italy , and if you do, these engines are very expensive.
Great engine though!

I see this car as a basic, simple and inexpensive fun sports car, and a modern 1,2l can pump out from 75 to 90HP without problems, but I can see many engine variants;

Bike engine, just an idea but maybe too expensive to build and fit .

Unfortunately I have very little reference to go on for this MOJO project, and if someone has side view pictures of the car it would help me greatly for a more accurate technical drawing/rendering.
I agree on your point ,that maybe the rear is slightly too short and would need a little extension,

I will follow your suggestion and contact Sylva direct and see if they would be intersted in co-producing a Mock-up to display next year.

Actually, if you have a look at the chassis photos on Sylva's website it's apparent that almost all of the running gear and suspension is forward of the rear wheel centreline.

Nice restyle - don't know how practical the wrap around screen would be in reality though.

Good point gecko, almost all the running gear is forward of the rear axle centreline. Just looks to me on Italo's rear view that it might just impinge on it slightly, but obviously it's a styling study. Only be a small amount in it anyway it it did so no major deal.

Wraparound screen shouldn't be problem for this type of car as practicality obviously isn't prime concern. Be no worse than on a C-Type or D-Type Jag which use similar split wraparound screens.

I was inspired by the D-type but also by some 70's sportscars like the Lancia stratos.

The wraparound windshield I thought for my design is still manufactured . I agree that maybe it would be a tight fit but I would have to build a mock-up to confirm these findings.

I will be sending in another rendering worked over the chassis picture taken fron sylva's website.
from my prelyminary drawings the body is feasible, but its still a drawing..........

I've sent an e-mail to Jeremy Phillips of SYLVA to see if he is interested, maybe something can happen, who knows.................. , I'll start with a scale model in the meantime but have a problem with dimension that I couldn' find on SYLVA'S website, can anybody help with : length,width,height and wheelbase figures.
