When I first got the car, I didnt really think it would do well in a crash, but this is a pic of what happened to mine. Woman in the 106 pulled accross my lane to turn into the junction she is now sitting in. her car span 180 degrees, impact was at 30mph and caused £5000 worth of damage to mine, luckily it was all her fault !

Just shows how handy having a camera in the car is (even a disposable for occasions like this). Glad you came out of it ok,but it certainly was a nasty one and very annnoying.

yeah you could say, it took 2 and a half months to get fixed !! Lotus had a back order on the front crumple zone box. Cost her insurance company £15,000 in hire car charges whilst it was being fixed !! Thats for a TT and BMW Z4 !

yeah -they are very tough...when they first launched they were the 1st car to be able to be driven away after the 30mph head on crash test...I know people who have rolled them down banks at high speed and just walked away...just goes to show you dont need lots of secondary safety features if the design itself is strong.

GRP etc is much better than steel at dispersing energy...only problem is that it does it by disintegrating so Elise crashes are always expensive and the damage looks worse than it is !

It was about 5 months after I bought her. I was going on holiday the next day so I had to work hard to get things sorted/moving before I went...

I can't get the pic either.

Hi Uldis - On an unrelated note, I was looking at some power graphs of your engine on dyno-graph the other day . Must be a quick car.

Blimey mate, the repair job's a corker. Have to say I was very impressed with your car on Friday, really gleaming. They are just sooo sexy those Sport 160's. I'm totally on with mine.

Must remove that ad...

I have to admit, BJC took me out for a spin in his 111R and it just made me realise how much I prefer mine. Not doubt that its a great car, but its just so smooth and polished in comparison. The sport 160 is so much more hardcore than the series 2, rough around the edges and just not smooth at all. It has so much character. I dont ever want to sell it! The louder and more extreme the better. Bring on a stage 3 exhaust if there's such a thing !

De-cat it and get an Eliseparts exhaust. Then you'll know what loud is!

piooly - "smooth" is my middle name ... in fact I thought it was so smooth I saw you snoozing during the run

I really like those 160 Sport - both yours and Tim's - the rear spoiler looks ace coupled with the really low slung attitude ...nice
