Combined key fob??
Discussion
Guys,
Don't know about the newer models, but both chimss i've owned required a key, an immobiliser thing, and the central locking fob. Now, having a seperate immobiliser thing is fine, but carrying a key and the CL fob is a pain in the harris. Anybody know anywhere that may do a service of providing a combined key/cl fob as one, just like wot a modern car has? Just much less of a muckled affair.
Thoughts......

You may also be interested in a kit the Modwise do that allows you to open the boot without having to turn the ignition on and fumble under the dash for the boot release button.

He did mine last year and it makes a huge difference in terms of looks and keyring junk!
Can't give you a price as he did it along with a few other bits but he's an exceptionally friendly chap.
finished product looks like this;

The metal part of the key under the black plastic is quite small and fits neatly into the space at the inside bottom of the fob. No need to secure the key with anything, it's a tight fit and won't wobble. With your skills and the right file it should be no trouble.
Nope. No obvious slot. Perhaps it's a different type, or i'm just dumb. Which bit is the 'bottom'?
Mine has TVR on the button too. The one in the picture is very similar but is supplied by a third party. I've just had a look inside mine to remind myself of what I did. Leave the locating pin there and drill a small hole through the key to allow it to locate as before. I also left the black plastic on the key where it covers the metal underneath. This was to provide sufficient packing to hold the key part tightly. I did file the edges of the tee bar on the key to shape it to fit in the fob base.
It is worth noting that the key can easily be replaced. The fob is more difficult so don't worry about hacking away at the key. The end result is well worth the effort.

I let Carl do mine as I wanted a boot release kit as well, but another example of how good this forum is and how a picture can speak a thousand words.
