What did you do today?
Me, I had expectations of a relaxing day doing next to nothing, pottering around in the garage, do a bit of shopping, perhaps take an afternoon nap while watching Sky sports 1,
That all went out the window the moment I stepped out into the back garden this morning,
I noticed that sand had been washed up from under the patio, then I noticed a foul smell that could mean only 1 thing.
The sewers were backedup!!!
Then went round the front and lifted the man hole cover to find it brimming, oh lovely.
Had to borrow a set of rods from the neighbour went about 30 foot down the 4" pipe before
a felt the blockage (must of been the Misses?)gave it a good hard shove and whoosh away it went, There was me hanging on for dear life to the last rod. nearly lost the lot!

If you've never had the experience of having to unblock drains you're luckly but one day your time will come and then it does keep your mouth tightly shut and look the other way.

took my glasses to the opticians cause they have a problem with the coating. they are pretty expensive so i wasn't looking at replacing them and got told that they had a two year warranty and i was 3 months within time to get them repaired free of charge. result.

that was the one thing i did today.

A couple of weeks ago I helped a drain guy clear one of our drains which was blocked by the carcass of a huge fat rat. It was minging.

Today was much better, drove down to Brighton, saw my first Sagaris in the flesh, managed to go round clothes shops all day looking for stuff for the missus & was treated to some guitar gear to make up for it.

Spent much of the day out on the driveway, freezing my nads off (amongst other things)trying to sort out a duff immobiliser. This thing has been to the main dealer and come back not fixed and nobody else seems to know how to help. Today I replaced the ECU (suspect original may be faulty) - but to no avail. I still have a thoroughly immobile car!

Took my Toyota Starlet GT Turbo to the local garage for MOT passed 1st time (thank god) and got to look at an original Elan and YB lumped Caterham, booked Starlet in for cambelt and waterpump at same garage before it goes for sale. Bought some petrol for me crosser and went out for a good blast came home got the Renault 5 GTT out the garage cleaned it a bit had someone to come and view it which meant me taking it out for a test drive ( not driven it in 3 months ) had a great time now I dont wanna part with it lol.

PPL Exercise 6.2 Learnt to fly slow, fast and at a safe slow cruise with flaps. Then flew the approach into land in very gusty conditions and a 19kt crosswind Even my instructor was breaking a sweat for that landing

Went to a scrapyard, found it was shut, said some rude words, went to the pigeon food shop, got a sack of pigeon food, came back. It was cold and everyone was doing 45mph.

Well I did the sewer bit last weekend: it's a recurring theme here at Wedg1e Villas. Last time I had 22 drain rods on before I finally shifted it - the problem seems to be down the street and the poor fall means as soon as it backs up, it all flows towards me.

Today I have mostly been eating tapas in Hartlepool (!), fixing my daughter's Corsa and having a haircut.

Fairly poor for a Saturday, but the tools I ordered a week ago (from a PH-beloved supplier ) have failed to turn up, and the guy who last year couldn't wait to sell me bits for my Lotus, now can't be arsed to answer my emails.
