350i door adjustment

OK I have stared at the door for ages and there i just no way I am gonna get a spanner or socket on the forward bolt. the door is all crooked and sounds awful when i shut it. how is it meant to be done??? Am I just being stupid!!!

I did manage to get a spanner on the bolts but couldn't turn them. In the end I slid the door along the rails. This allows you a socket on the bolts. Can't remember exactly what's involved, probably window, runners, lift mechanism out and remove door catch.

I've got a sagging door too and would be interested to know the best way to adjust it.

You can do the top corner, I did it with an assortment of spanners about a 1/64th of a turn at a time! I replaced it with a non locking washer for ease of future adjustment. I lined the body line up first, then the striker plate to suit, my doors now shut like a normal car!!

You need to sacrifice some spanners by bending then to get to the nut.
